In times like these, we could all use friends, supporters, collaborators. And as businesses, we could all use partners to forge stronger relationships with our customers.
So today we’re excited to announce two new programs for Intercom app builders and service providers: the App Partner Program and the Service Partner Program.
Partnerships have always been key to the way we work at Intercom. Since unveiling the Intercom App Store in 2018, we’ve worked with many of you to launch over 240 apps on the Intercom platform. These apps reach over 25,000 Intercom customers who installed apps more than 100,000 times last year alone.

We’ve also chatted with many service providers – think agencies, business process outsourcers, systems integrators, and consultancies – who are keen to help their clients use Intercom to connect with their customers.
Our new programs are designed to help all of us partner even more closely, so that together we can help businesses build better and more personal relationships with customers. Here’s how they work.
Turn your app into a powerful partnership
The Intercom platform has long been available to anyone who wants to build powerful integrations with Intercom. With the new App Partner Program, we are taking partnerships beyond the platform 🚀.
For partners who have invested in building quality apps for our mutual customers, the program unlocks new sales and marketing opportunities, plus more technical benefits, to enable you to get maximum value from your app. We’ll work with you on the following:
Win more deals together
In the current climate, businesses are looking to consolidate tools and build an integrated tech stack so they can save costs while staying efficient. Our 100+ sales reps will highlight how your tools integrate with Intercom in their conversations with customers and prospects. We’ll also offer resources to help your sales team do the same. In some cases, we may even suggest working joint deals together.

Partner apps get featured in the Intercom App Store and shared through our social channels and newsletters. We’ll also connect with your marketing teams to discuss other joint content we can develop together, such as webinars, case studies, guest blog posts, and perhaps – one day soon – even joint events.
For instance, last year product engagement tool Sherlock published Product engagement: the most important metric you aren’t tracking for your SaaS business on this very blog. It attracted over 9000 pageviews and got picked up by publications like Gartner and Chartmogul.
Our New in Intercom webinars also regularly highlight partner apps. Over a thousand viewers watch them on average, 78 percent of whom identify as being in a managerial role or above.

Improve retention
The reason why companies integrate with Intercom is to help their customers get as much use as possible out of their product. We’ll help you build a great app experience by sharing early access to API updates and previews of our platform roadmap. Deep integration of our tools means that users are more likely to get more use out of both of our tools – leading to stickier customers and better retention for all.

Our first program for service partners
Partnerships come in many different shapes and sizes. Besides the App Partner Program, we also have a great program for service providers like digital agencies, business process outsourcers, systems integrators, and consultancies. These providers work with companies who can benefit from business messaging, and we’re delighted to launch the Service Partner Program today to make it easier for them to work with us, get the sales support they need, and share in the upside of joint customer success.
