Connecting Intercom to Other Apps with Zapier
Intercom now integrates with Zapier. This lets you connect Intercom with your favorite products.
When you connect the apps you use at work together, they become even more powerful and can save a lot of time. Often these integrations are cumbersome to set up and require extra effort from developers, but our friends at Zapier provide a simple service that allows you to connect with 200+ products— no technical skills required.
Today, we’re introducing a very early version of our Zapier integration, so that you can easily connect Intercom with all your favorite products. This is a very early release, but as it has already proven popular, we’ve decided to share it. We’ll be adding more triggers and actions within Zapier, and we’d love to hear what other integrations you’d like us to add.
How can I use Zapier with Intercom?
Zapier bridges the gap between Intercom and the other products you use. There are many different ways you can use it and lots of products to choose from in Zapier’s app directory.
Here are a few of the most popular connections we’ve been hearing from users:
Send a message to HipChat when new users sign up
If your team uses HipChat, you can get notified when new users sign up for your product. Zapier can act as a HipChat user and post an update with information about each new user that signs up. This lets you start a conversation about the new signup, or jump straight into Intercom to talk to them.
Add new users in Intercom to Salesforce
If you’re using Salesforce, you can create records for new users as they sign up. This way, Salesforce will keep up to date with Intercom.
Subscribe new users in Intercom to your mailing list
If you use Campaign Monitor to manage a monthly newsletter, you can easily add new users to your list with Zapier. Set the creation of a new user as the trigger and then use Zapier to add that email address to your Campaign Monitor mailing list. Now all new users can receive your monthly newsletter.
Add MailChimp subscribers as users in Intercom
Do you have a mailing list for your blog so that regular readers get notified of new posts weekly? If you’re using MailChimp, for example, to manage your mailing list, you can add new subscribers as users in Intercom. This way, your blog subscribers will be synced with Intercom automatically so you can send them messages using Intercom too.
How do I set it up?
Setting up any of these integrations is easy. Just use the Zap templates listed here to get started with the most popular integrations. You can also create your own Zaps on Zapier by following this guide.
The Zapier team is adding new integrations all the time, so the possibilities are far and wide, and we’ll be adding more Zap templates as we expand our API. We’d love to hear what products you’re connecting with Intercom and what would be most useful in the future!
