Intercom reporting provides you with fully customizable layouts, advanced filters, and access controls, so you have everything you need to track performance and make smarter decisions.

You'll find all your reporting tools here in Reports.

Create reports

Start by creating a new report with the + icon at the top of the reports menu.

Teammates will need the “Can create, edit and internally share reports” permission to create a report.

Reporting templates

Choose from 12 pre-built report templates, giving you quick access to actionable insights using hundreds of pre-built charts you can configure in minutes.

Simply select a template to get started:

This will give you a preview of charts in this report. Click Use this template to customize the report.

Custom reports

With the Advanced or Expert plan, you can also create your own custom report by choosing from over 100 pre-built chart types or building your own custom charts. This feature gives you the freedom to select exactly what data and visuals are most relevant to your needs.

Customize the charts and layout

Every report on Intercom has fully customizable layouts and charts you can drag, drop, and resize. This flexible grid layout enables you to tailor the arrangement and presentation of charts ensuring each report fits the presentation style and information hierarchy that you prefer, making data easier to analyze and interpret.

Add new charts by searching for them in the "Add a chart" menu, then simply drag and drop them into your report.

Resize a chart by pulling from the bottom right corner.

Understand chart data

All reports are fully transparent, providing you with a clear understanding of the metrics used, their definitions, and the data behind the chart results.

Hover over the information icon at the top of a chart to see reporting period, report level filters, metrics, and metric level filters applied to each chart. This enhanced visibility empowers you to independently verify the information with confidence.

Take actions on charts

Hover over a chart to select:

  • Drill-in

  • Edit (Advanced and Expert plan only)

  • Export chart data

  • Duplicate

  • Remove

Edit, duplicate, and remove actions are only available when editing the report.

Drill in to your metrics

Every chart has a drill-in feature, enabling you to explore the underlying data behind your metrics. This allows you to gain a clearer understanding of the factors driving your results and make data-informed decisions faster.

Use advanced filtering

Gain deeper insights with a broader range of filters, including both standard and custom data attributes. This will allow you to conduct more precise analysis, uncover trends, and get the actionable data that’s key to your decision-making.

Select the date range you want to report on and click Add filter at the top of your report (these filters will apply to all charts within the report).

You have to be in edit mode to save any changes to a report.

Control report access

Access controls enable you to control who can view and edit your reports, protecting sensitive data and ensuring that only the right teammates have access to specific reports, for both security and collaboration.

Once you've finished configuring a report, click Save and choose to share the report with your teammates or keep it only available to you.

Any reports you create will be saved under Your reports.

Any reports created by other teammates and shared with you, are accessible from Reports > All reports > Shared with you.

Intercom's legacy pre-built reports can all be found in Reports > All reports > Intercom reports.

Organize reports

Create folders for your reports

To keep your reports organized, create folders by clicking Manage on the reports menu. This allows you to pin/unpin folders to the menu or create new ones.

Hover over a folder and select the three dots to add or remove existing reports by pinning/unpinning them.

Rearrange the folders on your reports menu with drag and drop.

Favorite reports

For quick access to your most used reports, save a report you or another teammate has created to your favorites:

  1. Open the report.

  2. Then click the More dropdown.

  3. Select Add to favorites.

Export data

If you require a more detailed breakdown of your conversation or ticket data, or would like to archive it for record keeping purposes, you can also export a CSV in a given date range.
