With message history, you can easily look back on previous versions of Chat, Post, or Mobile push messages to see who made which changes, when they were made, and how they impacted your message performance.

With this level of detail you can identify exactly what’s working and do more of it. 👌

Note: Message history will only display message versions created or edited after June 10th, 2020.

A new version of each message is saved when:

  • It is set live for the first time.

  • It is edited and set live again with changes to any of the following:
    - Content (message body).
    - Audience rules.
    - Goal.
    - Schedule.

Compare the performance of different message versions

To see how changes affect the performance of a message, click the version number at the top of the message page:

Or, click “More”, then “Show history”.

This will open the message history on the right hand side:

Here you can see at a glance how many people received different versions of your message, and which version was most effective:

To take a closer look at your message statistics over time, select a version. This will update the stats and message content shown in the message preview:

Keep track of changes made to your messages

To find out when a change was made and who made it, click through the previous versions of your message and you’ll see the person who edited it, and when the change was made here and here:

You‘ll also see any differences in the message content, audience rules, goals or schedule:

Pro tip: Make fewer changes to your messages at a time, and it will be easier to identify which ones have the most impact. 👌

Note: Message history is not currently enabled for Product Tours or Mobile Carousels.
