To send and receive SMS messages, you’ll need an activated country and phone number in that country. Each time you activate a country, you’ll purchase a local phone number for that country which you can use to send and receive SMS messages.

A phone number can only send messages in its own country (a US number can only send to US phones, a UK number can only send to UK phones, etc).

Managing countries and phone numbers

When you complete the SMS setup, you’ll choose one country and phone number to activate. If you’d like to see your active phone numbers and activate new countries, go to Settings > Channels > SMS > Advanced SMS Settings, and click on “Countries and phone numbers”:

You can only have one phone number in each activated country.
