In addition to triggering a Checklist automatically using rules, there are several other ways you can share your Checklist with customers, both inside and outside of your product:
First, turn off automatic targeting rules
If you don’t want to trigger a Checklist to send automatically, go to the Rules section of your Checklist and click “Turn this off”. This will also disable any Scheduling settings.
Then you’ll need to set the Checklist live in order to share it with your customers using the methods below.
Trigger from a shareable link
Generate a URL to link to your Checklists via email and other channels. This is great for proactively reaching customers who are not in your product.
Go to "Additional ways to share your Checklist", and add the page URL where your Checklist should appear when shared.
Important:
You must set your Checklist live before you can share it.
Checklists can appear on any page that has Intercom installed. It’s important to ensure that all users can access this URL otherwise, some may not be able to view the Checklist e.g. visitors cannot access a Checklist that’s hosted on a page which requires them to log in.
To ensure the Checklist always appears, we recommend using URLs anyone can access. However, it’s also possible to use a URL that contains a unique parameter, like a company ID attribute, to create a dynamic URL.
Copy the link automatically generated below to share the Checklist in emails, social channels, blogs, etc.
Remember to click “Save and close” to save these changes before sharing your Checklist.
Custom trigger using code
Checklists can be triggered inside your product via the JavaScript API. The code required to trigger the Checklist can be found in the editor.
Remember to click “Save and close” before triggering the Checklist using code.
You must set your Checklist live before it can be triggered using code.
Trigger via Smart Link from other content
Checklists can be triggered via a Smart Link from a Tooltip (or other content in Intercom which currently supports Smart Links).
Checklists triggered in this way will automatically load on the page that the customer is currently on (no page refresh required 😃).
You must set your Checklist live before it can be added as a Smart Link.
